Masquerade Mask

Finally finished! I spent weeks working on this puppy, but I'm so happy with the result. I don't think I'll ever do this again though. This is my mask for my masquerade birthday party in August. The colors are weird in some of the pictures, but I tried to use the best of them. The base is a deep purple, and the accents are all a vibrant, almost lime, green. The design is all mine. There are two layers; the bottom layer is cardstock glued onto a mask form, and the top layer is just a stiff cardstock. There's a slight crease in the center of the mask, between the eyes, from where I molded the cardstock to the shape of the mask *shrug*. I painted the purple, then all the green details and swirls, and covered up a ton of the fine details with the glitter glue, but then I added the rhinestones and loved it anyway. There are a lot more rhinestones than I originally planned (I was just going to have 3 on each side of the eyes), but I got carried away and like the effect. I have to pick up the ribbons, but it will have roughly 1/4" purple ribbons to tie it on. I think this will go very well with my beautiful dress and butterfly wings.
